LegalServer is one of the most prominent and most used case management for legal aid organizations. However, many cases require multiple documents or pleadings that include the same information, such as names, birthdates, addresses, and more. Entering this information numerous times is tedious and can lead to errors. There are many document automation technologies on the market today that address this issue, but none are fully integrated with LegalServer. In partnership with Documate, LegalServer, and A2J Tech, Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS) used Technology Initiative Grant (TIG) funding to develop an integration between LegalServer and Documate to quickly generate and populate legal documents using existing LegalServer data. SMRLS is using this integration to automate SSI and Family Law forms. This presentation will look at how a legal aid organization can leverage this innovation, how the integration works, an explanation and demonstration of the LegalServer and Documate integration, and how legal staff can complete forms accurately and quickly to save time, effort, and make casework more manageable.
